Didn't get them all in one day...

I didn't finish them off yet.

I've got my iA, though, and I'm halfway through my S license. That's pretty good, since I had never driven most of those tests before.

Soundtrack? Boingo Alive

GT4 vs Real Life at Laguna Seca

Here's a TV spot about GT4 vs real life in an NSX. 3 laps at laguna seca, proving one thing-- few people can drive in real life the way that they might in GT4.

Another license down

Got my iB, one silver, the rest bronze. Soundtrack: Dire Straits, On the Night.

That makes a total of 5 silver, 43 bronze. I still haven't run in a single actual race.

I'm a bit frustrated by the bronze iB prize car. It's a Nike 2022, which can't actually be entered in a race. That means that I have 3 cars now, and one of them can't be used for real races.

I'll try to wrap up iA later tonight. If I can do that, I'm going to be pretty happy with myself. I'm already doing a little better than I expected; even though I'm only getting bronzes, it's been only one attempt per test. There have been a few exceptions, where I've had to try three or four times (Citta di Aria comes to mind), but mostly it's been passing on the first try.

I haven't really started running races because I haven't figured out what color car I want to use. I'm thinking that I'd like to stick to a single color for all my cars as much as possible. That could be a lot of fun.

First order of business

The first thing I'm going to do is get some licenses. I'm not going nuts over all gold or anything like that, but I'm going to get probably through iB as fast as I can.

So far I've got my licenses through A. 28 bronze, 4 silver.

All while listening to The East Village Opera Company, which is a pretty cool group. They perform opera arias in the style of rock anthems.

Now to pick some music for my iB tests.

Well, nuts

I blew away my memory card by accident today.

I was trying to back up all of my 'important' game data using ActionMax Evo, and instead of backing them up, it just friggin' deleted the saves.

That means I have no Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 save info. No Enthusia save info (I was at 65% on the DR mode!), and no more GT4 save info (I was at 60%, licenses through iA, and 4.5M credits).

This gives me a chance to start over, I guess.

So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to record each of my game events on the blog. Every race will have at least one picture taken from the replay. I'm going to do this for fun, for sure. But I'm going to try a lot harder to have that fun.

An update!

Yeah, it's been a long time since I updated this blog. Nobody reads it, though, so it's not so much of a problem.

I've got a few racing-game things going on, though, so I might start blogging again so that I can remember what I was doing.

First off, GT4 status: around 59% complete, licenses through iA. I have a few concurrent goals:
* complete my S license
* get better at driving rally courses
* finish off professional hall

Also, I'm probably going to be racing in an American muscle car (fully tuned) competition, probably driving a Pontiac GTO.

Beyond that, I'm also getting pumped up about the upcoming Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift game that comes out next month. Yes, it's a budget title, but it's going to be pretty exciting as far as I can tell. I'm trying to figure out if it's Kaido Battle 1 or 2, hopefully it's 2.
